Another look at Magic Sentence

Plus, Chapter 28 is available for your learning pleasure!

Good morning scholars and language enthusiasts!

Hake here with some throwback Japanese Complete.

I make a lot of widgets for Japanese learners, so many in fact that I often forget what I’ve created in the past! I was just reminiscing over the weekend about things I have made to help people understand Japanese intuitively and here’s one we hope to turn the core concept of into a fully-fledged language learning game to rival the likes of DuoLingo.

It’s called Magic Sentence and the premise is simple: adjust the sentence at the bottom of the visual and the image will update automatically (automagically) to reflect the sentence.

I had an idea to turn this into a game similar to Mario 64. It will clearly take years of development time, but it is a worthwhile endeavor. I appreciate your patience!!

Anyway, the basic demo of the concept is available here. Or on the thumbnail immediately below.

Plus, there are multiple levels for immersion on the slider. If you slide from left to right you can choose from RO (Romaji) to SL (Japanese Complete Student Language), all the way up to Native Japanese (JP).

Penguin and bear have a conversation in the park.

You can try it out for yourself absolutely free. It’s just a concept / demo but it’s something we are proud of because it shows in very effective fashion our concept of the orthographic gradient. We did not invent this concept, the orthographic gradient was invented by Noah Hermalin https://kilthub.cmu.edu/ndownloader/files/12212351

Noah has never replied to my emails, but I think he would be excited about the magic sentence tool!

We are on the cutting edge!

Right now you can get a 40 day risk free trial of Japanese Complete via our purchase page. We experiment with different pricing options frequently, so it’s not certain how long this offer will stand! If you are interested, now is a great time to see why Japanese Complete is different and why it can help you Go All The Way.
