We're thrilled to announce that Chapters 12 through 24 are now available on Japanese Complete! That's right—almost half of the curriculum is live and ready for you to dive into.

We’ve been working hard to expand the content, and there's more to come! While you work through the chapters, we’ll be adding quizzes soon to help you master particles, kanji, and verbs in an English context. We’ve got these quizzes planned and ready to roll out in the near future to make sure you’re getting the most out of each lesson.

Here’s some highlights from our latest content drop, we know it is a veritable ton, but not to fret, you can move at your own pace! Here's a breakdown of what these chapters offer to accelerate your fluency:

• Particles Mastery

  In these chapters, you'll unlock some of the most powerful and nuanced particles in Japanese:

  • ながら (While doing...) and つつ (While continuing...) open up new ways to express simultaneous actions.

  • まま (Leaving something as is) introduces the concept of maintaining states, perfect for nuanced descriptions.

  • ぶり (First time in a while...) adds depth to expressing time and experience.

  • にて, において, and における elevate your formal Japanese, allowing you to communicate more professionally in written and spoken contexts.

  • が早いか (As soon as) and やいなや (The moment) introduce urgency and immediacy to your language toolkit.

  • その他 (among others), というか (or rather), and など (and so forth) give you the tools for informal listings, comparisons, and elaborations.
    

• Verbs:

  • New verbs like 進展する (to progress), 話す (to speak), 生きる (to live), and 飲む (to drink) help diversify your communication, whether casual or formal.

  • Learn verb transformations such as て-instrumental (for expressing means), としたら (hypothetical statements), and the てもらう structure (receiving actions as gifts).

  • かかる (to take time/money), 走る (to run), and 思う (to think) round out your foundational verb knowledge for everyday use.
    

• Kanji Mastery:

  • 車 (car), 神 (god), 真 (true), and 進展 (progress) allow you to read and recognize key words used across daily life, literature, and media.

  • 飲む (to drink), 食べる (to eat), and 話す (to speak) bring your reading skills up to speed with common verbs you’ll encounter in conversations.

  • High-frequency kanji like 日 (day), 月 (month), 年 (year), and 時 (time) give you the foundation to tackle more complex texts and expressions.
